Negativity Attacks

The Pressure Is On
Eighty percent of teenagers give in to negative peer pressure. Many times, giving in to this negative pressure leads to a trip to the E.R., being hospitalized, or even death. Once kids go off to school, parents lose their grip and lack control. When their teenage years come around, peers are the greatest influence on other teens.
Have you ever given in to any kind of pressure, or maybe you knew it was happening, and you just wanted it to stop so you do what your "friends" want? You are one of the 80%. Kids give into many things, for many reasons, on many occasions. They may give into drugs, sex, bullying others, and changing their look. Some reasons for this weakness are: they just want it to stop, they start believing they are worse than they really are and need to fit in to stand out, or they want to be considered "cool" and think it's fun. Pressure may come harder on a kid's birthday, or a special event in school like a field trip or a big project.
So many parents a year lose their children due to accidents with friends in the car, drunk driving and several other reasons. Many times, accidents that may not have happened had the teen been alone happen where there are friends of theirs in the vehicle with them. All the new "fads" can also affect who is pressured, and how much pressure is being put on then. Things like vaping, smoking, drinking and sex are often the kind of thing many highschoolers and even middleschoolers are pressured about or into about Even though many may think that doing so makes them look good and boosts their reputation, the effects of alcohol have even more negative effects on teens. Such as mood swings, a worse change in friends, a lack of focus, addiction, an increased amount of accidents and so much more.
If you have ever given into peer pressure, try to turn yourself around, as it has many negative effects on behavior and how you take care of yourself. Don't become a part of that rising 80%. Stand out in your own, fun, goofy, clever way. No one needs drugs to be known by many or popular among peers. Just be yourself, succeed, try new positive things, and don't let anyone control you with the power of negative influences of peer pressures. The pressure is on, don't let it win.
